How I can help

My job as a therapist is to create a safe space where we can authentically and deeply explore your hopes and aspirations in addition to the impediments you are experiencing in reaching your full potential.

Whatever those difficulties, you will be met without judgment, but a firm hand to help guide you as you make the changes you seek.

In treating couples, I utilize the Developmental Model theory of couples relationships. I am concurrently training at the Couples Institute with Dr. Ellyn Bader to utilize this helpful model to better understand how couples get "stuck" and ways in which to work through and resolve these challenges. It is a non-pathologizing model, which enables us to view the struggles couples face as part of a larger struggle for psychological growth and achieving a sense of wholeness.

Here are just a few things I can assist you with:

  • Coming to terms with identity (sexual, gender, or otherwise)

  • Building self-confidence and self-worth

  • Reducing worry or anxiety

  • Coping with sadness or depression

  • Improving relationships

  • Navigating life crises and transitions

  • Enhancing academic performance

  • Effectively managing excessive stress

Special populations served

I support adults, adolescents, couples, and their families in managing symptoms of ADHD, OCD, Anxiety, and Mood Conditions, and I do so without pathologizing my clients. For more about my style and philosophy, please see the about me page.

I support adults, adolescents, couples, and their families identifying as Lesbian, Gay, or Bisexual, those questioning their sexuality, and individuals identifying as Transgender, or those questioning their gender identity.

I support those within the LGBTQIA+ community through a lens of understanding the unique concerns that this community faces. I also utilize the HAES® (health at every size) paradigm to support people of every body type.

I support adults and adolescents interested in making social and other gender affirmation/confirmation transitions (hormone replacement therapy (HRT), top/bottom surgeries, etc.). I do write letters of support for folks looking for this and I do so without gatekeeping. Most of my work, however, is in exploring the journey of self-discovery and the involvement of other individuals who can support this journey.

A NOTE ABOUT THE LAND:

I live and work on stolen land: the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Nipmuc, Pawtucket, and Massa-adchu-es-et (Massachusetts) nations.

As a person of predominantly white, settler heritage, my relationship to this land is complicated by the history of genocide against the First Nations and Indigenous people who cared for this land long before me or my family settled here. I am constantly working to learn and unlearn, to do better when it comes to my complicity in colonialism, racism and my own privilege.

Part of this is paying reparations, which is why each month I donate a portion of my profits to a local social justice organization, prioritizing queer and BIPOC-run organizations.

I am always open to feedback and suggestions.
